March Beginner's Workshop

It's time again for the LUV Beginner's Workshop and OLPC Corner. Come along on 19th of March. Talk: Home Computing With Ubuntu by Alexander Garber

We intend to cover things like:

  • How should you partition your machine? Should you use LVM?
  • installing various linux distributions;
  • tweaking and configuring your system;
  • automatic backups;
  • home networking, including wireless;
  • setting up specific applications;
  • using specific applications;
  • the Linux problem you're having

In addition, Alexander Garber will be giving an introduction to Home Computing With Ubuntu.

Note: the originally scheduled talk on Libre/Open Office unfortunately had to be postponed for health reasons, and is now scheduled for June. We apologise for the inconvenience and wish the speaker a speedy recovery.

Well ... not that am aware !! .. But then am not aware of much that is happening in Pasadena California!!

You are most welcome to attend our monthly workshop in Docklands, Melbourne Australia on March 19.

Mind you its not unknown for people to have flown across seas to come to our workshops before!! And its Free . so it wont cost you a cent... as far as entrance fee is concerned at least!
