Shepparton Mini Conference, Install Fest and LUG

Linux Users Victoria will be holding a mini-conference, install-fest and establishing yet another new regional chapter on Saturday September 29 in Shepparton!

The event will be held at  23 Alexandra St Mooroopna, a community house facility ( starting at 11am.

We already have a small number of speakers on some basic features of Linux and the Free Software movement (one on "Moving to Free Software" and one on "Office Applications". Others are welcome so please nominate yourself for a brief presentation!

A free lunch will also be provided.

Presented by Linux Users Victoria in partnership with the Mooroopna Education & Activity Centre's Ripple Effect Project this free event will be informative and allow for Questions.

Note that this event is featured on the community connect website and may be featured on television (Shepparton's local Channel 10) and 2 local radio stations.

Drive to SheppartonPlease note that Shepparton is around 200km from Melbourne. That's a 2½ hour drive.

Public Transport Information

A new vline timetable takes effect on Oct 30, so if you stay in Shepparton overnight, please take this into consideration.

V/Line timetable until Oct 29:

  • The vline train that departs Southern Cross station at 9:13 will arrive at Mooroopna station at 11:27. A reservation is required for this service.
  • The vline train that departs Mooroopna station at 16:09 will arrive at Southern Cross station at 18:28. A reservation is required for this service.

A standard return ticket costs $34.20. A first class return ticket costs $46.20.

It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the railway station to the Mooroopna Education & Activity Center.
