What is it ?
kerneld is a user-level process which provides on-demand loading of
kernel modules. As such, memory is saved since modules like (in my
case) sbpcd, iso9660, nfs, vfat, sound et al. are only loaded when
they're needed. Furthermore, the modules are unloaded after a minute
