Elections - Committee Nominations

Nominations

The various LUV committee nominations listed here.

Committee positions

The committee positions open for election (all positions) are:
Office-bearing positions:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Non-office-bearing positions:

  • Ordinary committee member (x4)

Candidates must nominate for a specific office-bearing position (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer), or as an ordinary committee member. If a candidate running for a particular office is not elected to that office then they will be considered as a candidate for election as an ordinary committee member.

How to nominate

A nomination must come from two LUV members and have the consent of the candidate.
Nominations must be sent via e-mail to to Graeme Cross, the returning officer for this election, at returning-officer@luv.asn.au. Note that the returning officer will not stand for election.
The email should have the subject "Nomination" and contain one statement of one of the following four forms:

  • I, <nominator's name> (<nominator's e-mail address>), nominate <candidate's name> (<candidate's email address>) for the office of <office>.
  • I, <nominator's name> (nominator's e-mail address>), nominate <candidate's name> (<candidate's email address>) as an ordinary committee member.
  • I, <candidate's name> (<candidate's email address>), agree to be nominated for the office of <office>.
  • I, <candidate's name> (<candidate's email address>), agree to be nominated as an ordinary committee member.

Nominators and candidates must be LUV members, as determined by membership of theluv-announce@luv.asn.au mailing list.
Nominations must be received before 11pm on July 1st, 2003.
Candidates are encouraged to also submit a brief statement in support of their candidacy, which will be published on the web site with their nomination.

loops and bounces and mailboxes

To lessen the load on our new mailing list admin, we are at the moment removing people who return "Mailbox Full" messages, and those who inadvertantly cause mail loops. If this happens to you , please don't panic , just clear out your mail, and rejoin.
